Bringing together ecology, recreation and sports

Parc Jarry is known for its friendly atmosphere and diverse features. While it covers a vast area, its neighbourhood park feel makes it extremely popular among residents of nearby areas and the general population alike.

Since its creation, Parc Jarry has seen many changes and additions, one after the other. Although there is nothing unsightly, the overall effect lacks cohesion, and some structures are nearing the end of their useful life.

The Landscape Planning is the result of information-gathering missions conducted over the last few years by the Service des grands parcs, du Mont-Royal et des sports, including a survey (Mon parc de rêve / My dream park) of members of the community and visitors to the park and consultations with sports clubs and organizations, various external stakeholders and district representatives. The Landscape Planning’s vision and direction will be presented to members of the community, who will have the opportunity to evaluate the proposals.

One thing is certain: this vision is built on the continuity of the park’s character and of its various uses, so that members of the community feel a sense of belonging while also facing the challenges of climate change.

During these consultations, several elements will be presented, including a concept plan outlining programming for different sectors of the park.
