Since over 15,000 pedestrians a day use Rue Jean-Brillant, the borough of Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce has embarked on a planning initiative for the area. This ongoing participatory project began in the fall of 2019, and the resulting plans will become permanent in the summer of 2022.

A lively, busy area
Each day, thousands of pedestrians circulate in the area. In order to improve the pedestrian experience and offer a space that is safer and more suitable for walking, the borough wants to pedestrianize the busiest part of Rue Jean-Brillant.

This pedestrianization will also improve the interactions between the street and Parc Jean-Brillant, creating a new public space for everyone to enjoy.

Your participation in the project
The site that the project is dealing with is located between the Côte-des-Neiges subway station and the Université de Montréal campus. It covers two sections of Rue Jean-Brillant between Avenue Decelles and Chemin Côte-des-Neiges, with a total length of 230 m.

Until the permanent plans are made, residents are invited to provide their suggestions and comments. Consult the different sections of the webpage to get informed and to share your vision of this future pedestrian space.
