WORK OPERATIONS ON RUE SAINTE-CATHERINE OUEST

The work schedule and planning may change, depending on the weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances on the work sites.

WEST LOT

BETWEEN BOULEVARD ROBERT-BOURASSA AND RUE PLACE PHILLIPS

Nature of the work

  • Reconstruction of a combined sewer and installation of a water main
  • Connection of service inlets for secondary water mains
  • Reconstruction of electrical infrastructures (duct banks and access manholes)
  • Lining of a gas main (corner Rue Union)

Schedule: 24/7. Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5: work during the day only

Expected impacts: excavation noise, sawing, nailing, sanding, compacting

EAST LOT

WORK OPERATIONS BETWEEN RUE CITY COUNCILLORS AND RUE DE BLEURY

Nature of the work

  • Installation of a water main
  • Connection of service inlets for the sewer and secondary water main
  • Reconstruction of electrical infrastructures (duct banks and access manholes)
  • Lining of a gas main (Rue Saint-Alexandre, north side)

Schedule: 24/7. Saturday, May 4: work during the day only

Expected impact: excavator noise, hydraulic drilling, sawing, sanding

Water service interruptions

Action planned: Door hangers will be placed 48 hours in advance to notify building occupants, who will also receive an E-mail from liaison officers and an electronic notice.

Targeted action or unforeseen circumstances: Liaison officers will contact the building owners or managers directly affected as soon as possible.

Mitigation measures

Noise: The noisiest work operations will be carried out during the day. Noise barriers will be installed to minimize the noise generated by some work operations.

Water service interruption: Lengthy interruptions will take place mainly at night, outside of store and office hours.

Access to buildings: Access to homes, buildings and stores will be maintained at all times. Signage will be installed to provide information concerning access to stores within the worksite.

Pedestrian mobility: Corridors and secure walkways will be set up for pedestrians.

Delivery zones available
Several delivery zones are available near the perimeter of the work site.

STM bus: Service maintained, though schedules and routes may change.
