Public Workshop - August 24, 2016
Some twenty residents took part in the public workshop on the potential solutions suggested for carrying out LaSalle's Local Mobility Plan.
LaSalle's Local Mobility Plan is designed to be a vast consultation process on all means of urban transit (motor vehicles, walking, cycling and public transit). Its goal is to improve residents' quality of life as well as make their mobility easier and safer.
Steps completed
In November 2015, the key players in the Borough were invited to a workshop in order to develop the portrait and diagnosis of the Local Development Plan. A few weeks later, residents were invited to answer a survey and identify their mobility problems. These consultations made it possible to obtain an overview of—and diagnose—the situation. At the Residents' Forum last April, LaSalle residents were invited to define the actions to be given priority with regard to mobility and transportation. At the public workshop in August, residents in attendance proposed a number of interesting solutions that will be examined and that may be included in the final version of LaSalle's Local Mobility Plan (LMP). The list of suggestions will be posted on this site soon. The Borough of LaSalle expects to be able to publish its Final LMP early next year.
